Worth Everything to You

Track 4 • 3:58
Art for Worth Everything to You

The Story

We grow up learning to price a life the way markets price things — salary, looks, followers, usefulness. When those numbers drop, the heart whispers that we are disposable. Shame stacks receipts. Comparison keeps score. Even church can become another scoreboard.

Jesus breaks that economy. He does not dig through the wreckage looking for a bargain. He comes as Shepherd and Redeemer — leaving the ninety-nine, paying with His own blood, calling a forgotten person by name. Your worth is not a self-esteem project. It is a purchase price God already paid. Silver and gold cannot buy what His life already covered.

So turn from the idol of being valuable on your own terms. You are not what you earn, what you ruined, or what other people can still use. You are what Christ paid. Lost, found, kept — not because you climbed, but because He came down and brought you home.

Associated Scripture

1 Peter 1:18-19 (ESV): "knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot."

Luke 15:4-5 (ESV): "What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing."

Lyrics

[Verse 1] They measure a life in the silver they hold In shadows and dust, in what's bought and what's sold I felt like a trinket that slipped to the floor Forgotten and silent, worth nothing and poor Then I heard the footsteps come crossing the room A lamp in the darkness that chased out the gloom You didn’t see trash and You didn’t see shame You reached through the wreckage and called me by name [Pre-Chorus] Now I know what I'm worth, not by what I have done Not by mistakes or the races I run No silver, no gold could begin to restore You paid with Your life, and my soul isn't poor [Chorus] My worth was redeemed by the life that You gave A treasure uncovered, pulled out of the grave You paid the full price and You picked me back up From dust on the floor to a banquet and cup I was lost, I was found, I am kept in Your sight Counted worth everything, walking in light [Verse 2] Like a pearl in the deep, like a field with a prize You saw who I was through love’s reckless eyes No ledger of failures, no counting the scars Just joy in the finding beneath morning stars You left ninety-nine to come looking for one And carried me home in the warmth of the Son [Pre-Chorus] Now I know what I'm worth, not by what I have done Not by mistakes or the races I run No silver, no gold could begin to restore You paid with Your life, and my soul isn't poor [Chorus] My worth was redeemed by the life that You gave A treasure uncovered, pulled out of the grave You paid the full price and You picked me back up From dust on the floor to a banquet and cup I was lost, I was found, I am kept in Your sight Counted worth everything, walking in light [Bridge] Not bought with the dust of the world Not bought with the silver or gold With love that would empty the throne To welcome the wanderer home To welcome the wanderer home Yeah, You carried me home [Chorus] My worth was redeemed by the life that You gave A treasure uncovered, pulled out of the grave You paid the full price and You picked me back up From dust on the floor to a banquet and cup I was lost, I was found, I am kept in Your sight Counted worth everything, walking in light [Outro] Paid in full, held in love Worth everything to You
