There are seasons when a soul looks finished from the inside. Prayer feels like talking at a wall. Old obedience is a pile of things that used to matter. Shame is loudest when the ruin is something we helped build, and the heart concludes that dead is just honest. So we either fake a spark or quit and call the quitting humility.
God walked Ezekiel into a valley of bones and asked a question no technique can answer: can these live? The prophet did not offer a plan. He said, "O Lord God, you know." Then God spoke to what was dead. Sinew, flesh, breath — life came from outside the bones. Biblical renewal is not a mood we crank up. It is the Lord putting life where there was none. Paul names that mercy without the vision: even when we were dead in trespasses, God made us alive together with Christ. Dry faith is not proof that He is finished. Dead people do not revive themselves.
If your faith feels brittle, do not dress the valley up as a garden. Tell Him the truth and ask Him to do what you cannot. Hope is not the memory of a better year. Hope is God, who still speaks to dry places and is not embarrassed to start again with people who thought they were done.

Ezekiel 37:3-5 (ESV): "And he said to me, ‘Son of man, can these bones live?’ And I answered, ‘O Lord God, you know.’ Then he said to me, ‘Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live.’"
Ephesians 2:4-5 (ESV): "But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—"

Lyrics
[Verse 1]
I'm walking a canyon of my own mistakes
Where the ground is brittle
and the spirit breaks
It's been a long season
since the rain fell down
Now I'm just a ghost in a desert town
Everything I built is scattered and gray
Just a collection of things
that have withered away
And the silence is asking the question I dread:
"Can life really grow where the hope is dead?"
[Pre-Chorus]
I'm looking at the ruins, looking at the dust
Trying to find a reason left for me to trust
Then I hear a whisper
through the heat and the haze
Calling out parts that have been lost for days.
[Chorus]
I hear a rattling, a sound in the air
A stirring in the places of my deepest despair
You're bringing the pieces back together again
Underneath the surface of my skin
Speak to my spirit, let the wind start to blow
Breathe on the embers until the fire starts to show
From the valley of the dry to the rising of the sun
My life is just beginning, and the work has just begun.
[Verse 2]
It wasn't all at once, it was bone by bone
I realized I wasn't in the valley alone
You're knitting my heart back
with threads of Your grace
Putting a smile back on this tired face
My broken heart is starting to find its beat
You're putting the ground back under my feet
I was a graveyard, quiet and cold
Now I'm one of Your stories that's being told.
[Bridge]
Come from the four winds, Breath of the King
Awaken the melody I forgot to sing
I'm standing up now, I'm finding my breath
There is no more power in the shadow of death
A vast army rising where the shadows used to be
That's the kind of power You're waking in me.
[Outro]
I can feel the wind blow
Watch the desert bloom
The valley of the dry is now
The rising of the Son.
