Romans Road

Track 3 • 3:18
Art for Romans Road

The Story

We try so hard to curate a flawless, highly successful image of ourselves. We practice self-care, optimize our routines, and try to be "good people." But when we finally drop the polished filters, we have to admit that we are still tired, broken, and desperately incapable of saving ourselves. The "Romans Road" is the realization that our self-improvement plans are a dead end, pointing us to the only exit ramp that actually leads to life. For Christians, this uses the Roman's Road evangelism concept of telling non-believers about the Good News and what they should do to accept Jesus.

Lyrics

[Verse 1] Are you haunted by things in your past? Are you tired of a hope that won't last? Jesus died just to bridge the divide And He’s waiting with arms open wide [Verse 1] We are selfish and live for our own gain Hiding truth with lies, causing others pain But no one is right, no, not even one Beneath the bright light of God’s holy Son [Verse 2] There is a price for the path that we take A heavy cost for the rules that we break But there is life in a gift that is free A holy promise for all who believe [Verse 3] While we were lost, He came to die He paid the debt for you and I He proved His love upon the tree To set the bound and weary free [Bridge] If you honestly confess He will free you from the mess If you trust Him in your heart He will never depart All who call upon His name Will not ever be the same [Chorus] Are you haunted by things in your past? Are you tired of a hope that won't last? Jesus died just to bridge the divide And He’s waiting with arms open wide
