The Story
Samson is characterized as a compromised strongman whose story serves as a cautionary tale about ego, self-sabotage, and the addiction of thinking one is the exception to the rule. His journey from arrogance and temptation to his eventual realization that the "one more time" mindset cost him everything culminates in his final act of surrender. One lesson learned is that strength without submission to the One who grants it becomes a prison. The other is giving into temption makes it easier to do again - to the point of doing it even when you know it is destroying you.

Lyrics
[Verse 1]
Same old vineyard, same old gate
Same old Samson, tempting fate
I tell myself I’m in control
While the rot is eating at my soul
I’m back at the carcass, I’m off of the track
I’m craving the thing that keeps pulling me back
One more time!
[Pre-Chorus]
My hair is long, my arms are wide
I’ve got the Spirit on my side
So I’ll take the wink of a kohl-rimmed eye
And tell the Lord another lie...
[Chorus 1]
One more time, and I’m feeling fine
One more time, I can walk the line
One more time, the power is mine
I’m the king of the vineyard
And the fruit of the vine!
I thought I was the exception!
[Verse 2]
The razor’s cold, the room is still
I’m climbing up a hollow hill
She asks me once, she asks me twice
I’m rolling those loaded Philistine dice
I know the end, I’ve seen the fall
But the "one more time" is a siren call
I gave the secret, I gave the key
Now there’s nothing left of the man in me
[Chorus 2]
One more time, and I’m feeling fine
One more time, I can walk the line
One more time, the power is mine
But I’ve caught myself in a terrible bind!
I thought I was the exception!
[Bridge]
The "one more time" was the last time.
I’m blind in the Gaza, I’m bound in the chain
I’ve got nothing but the pillars and the sound of the rain
Lord, remember me!
Give me the weight of the house for the sake of my name!
[Chorus 3]
One more time...
One more time...
One more time...
There is no more time, just the dark and the chain!
I wasn't the exception.
Now I’m crushed by the weight of the choices I made
I’m the strongest man lying in a grave I laid!
[Outro]
It wasn't my muscle.
It wasn't my skin.
I built this cage from the outside in.
No more time...
No more time...
