The Story
This song is my personal testimony of the profound intersection between human rebellion and divine pursuit. It reminds me that while I often choose the path of darkness and build walls of pride, God is always running toward me with open arms. When I consider how often I have lost my way, I am brought to my knees by the overwhelming grace that chose to love me while I was still a sinner. It is a song born from the realization that I am the wreck, but He is the grace.

Lyrics
[Verse 1]
We built our towers to reach the sky
We told ourselves a thousand lies
We wandered far from the Shepherd’s voice
And made the darkness our preferred choice
We were broken, we were blind
With a heavy heart and a restless mind.
[Chorus]
I ran away, You ran to me!
I chose the chains, You set me free!
I wander far, I lose my way
BUT GOD, You love me every day!
[Verse 2]
You are the Holy, the Perfect One
The Morning Star and the Rising Son
Your hands are clean and Your heart is pure
Your every promise is firm and sure
We are the wreck, but You are the grace
The Light of the world in a broken place.
[Chorus]
I ran away, You ran to me!
I chose the chains, You set me free!
I wander far, I lose my way
BUT GOD, You love me every day!
[Bridge]
He bore the pain, He took the spear
He tore the veil, He faced the fear
He died the death that we should have died
The gates of heaven are open wide!
The work is done and the debt is paid!
[Chorus]
I ran away, You ran to me!
I chose the chains, You set me free!
I wander far, I lose my way
BUT GOD, You love me every day!
[Outro]
While we were sinners...
You loved us still...
THANK YOU, GOD!
